Getting Around Kailua-Kona

Check Availability

You don’t necessarily need a car to get around Kailua-Kona. Many places are close enough to reach on foot.

The Hele-On Bus is available to reach nearby attractions, beaches, and shopping centers. Keep in mind that the schedules are limited, especially in remote areas. If you have a flexible schedule and are looking for a budget-friendly way to get around, it is a great option. But a car is a better choice if you want convenience and to visit more remote areas.

For those who prefer more flexibility, bike and scooter rentals are also common, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenic coastline and town at their own pace. There is a convenient e-bike rental rack directly across the street from the condo.

When renting a car, remember that bigger isn’t always better. Kona has a lot of narrow roads and small parking lots. A smaller car is often easier to park or get around in, and you will save on gas!
